Video of the Traveling Fiddle visiting tourist locations and some of my favorite spots in NorthEast Ohio. Song played is Lark in the Morning. I am an adult violin student, and have been playing for 1 year. The video tested my editing skills, and I did fail, lol, but putting it together was fun. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments! My video editing skillz are a work in progress, and it sadly shows in the video. I did learn a lot while working on this one, so hopefully it will help me improve! I wrote a blog about my time with the Traveler, and you can read it here: http://thefiddlingviolin.blogspot.com/2016/09/the-traveling-fiddle.html More info on the Traveler: http://fiddlerman.com/traveling-fiddle/ (make sure to visit the forum!) ::: More information on the locations seen in the video ::: Cuyahoga Valley National Park: https://www.nps.gov/cuva/index.htm Cleveland Metroparks: http://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/Main/Home.aspx Frostville Museum: http://www.olmstedhistoricalsociety.org/ Hale Farm and Village: https://www.wrhs.org/plan-your-visit/hale-farm/ Severance Hall: https://www.clevelandorchestra.com/plan-your-visit/severance-hall/ Cleveland Museum of Art: http://www.clevelandart.org/ A Christmas Story House: http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: https://www.rockhall.com/ Voinovich Bicentennial Park: http://www.northcoastharbor.org/visit-voinovich-bicentennial-park/ Recording equipment used: *Canon 7D *Blue Snowball Microphone Edited using iMovie Instrument: *Violin is a Cremona SV100 *Bow used for recording: Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber Bow: http://fiddlershop.com/fiddlerman-s-carbon-fiber-bow-violin.html *Bow used for video: Glasser colored bow (purple!)

The Kessler Crane Pocket Jib Traveler is the next piece of camera gear after you get a good tripod. Adding fluid movement to your camera shots will bring your production value to a whole new level. The Kessler Pocket Jib Traveler is compact, easy to setup and gives great results. Make sure your camera is properly balanced and then use one finger to gently move the jib arm through the shot. This is a great way to make static shots more interesting. This Kessler jib was made in the USA and is well built out of high quality materials. To facilitate using the jib on various tripods I installed an arca swiss type plate to the two 1/4 20 holes that are provided in the base. I used a Fotasy LP70 plate as it was long enough to attach to the two holes. This provides for a secure mount to the tripods. I even tested this mounting method on my lighter duty Induro CGT114 and it works ok. In most cases I will use either my C413 Induro or CT214 as both are sturdy tripods. Public domain film from the Prelinger Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied. The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_traffic_control Air traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by ground-based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and through controlled airspace, and can provide advisory services to aircraft in non-controlled airspace. The primary purpose of ATC worldwide is to prevent collisions, organize and expedite the flow of traffic, and provide information and other support for pilots. In some countries, ATC plays a security or defensive role, or is operated by the military. To prevent collisions, ATC enforces traffic separation rules, which ensure each aircraft maintains a minimum amount of empty space around it at all times. Many aircraft also have collision avoidance systems, which provide additional safety by warning pilots when other aircraft get too close. In many countries, ATC provides services to all private, military, and commercial aircraft operating within its airspace. Depending on the type of flight and the class of airspace, ATC may issue instructions that pilots are required to obey, or advisories (known as flight information in some countries) that pilots may, at their discretion, disregard. Generally the pilot in command is the final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft and may, in an emergency, deviate from ATC instructions to the extent required to maintain safe operation of their aircraft... History In 1921, Croydon Airport, London was the first airport in the world to introduce air traffic control. In America, Air Traffic Control developed three divisions. The first - Air Mail Radio Stations (AMRS) was created in 1922 after World War 1 when the US Post Office began using techniques developed by the Army to direct and track the movements of reconnaissance aircraft. Over time the AMRS morphed into Flight Service Stations. Today's Flight Service Stations do not issue control instructions, but provide pilots with many other flight related informational services. They do relay control instructions from ATC in areas where Flight Service is the only facility with radio or phone coverage. The first Airport Traffic Control Tower, regulating arrivals, departures and surface movement of aircraft at a specific airport, opened in Cleveland in 1930. Approach/Departure Control facilities were created after the invention of RADAR in the 1950s to monitor and control the busy airspace around larger airports. The first Air Route Traffic Control Center, which directs the movement of aircraft between departure and destination was opened in Newark, NJ in 1935, followed in 1936 by Chicago and Cleveland... Airport control The primary method of controlling the immediate airport environment is visual observation from the airport control tower (TWR). The tower is a tall, windowed structure located on the airport grounds. Air traffic controllers are responsible for the separation and efficient movement of aircraft and vehicles operating on the taxiways and runways of the airport itself, and aircraft in the air near the airport, generally 5 to 10 nautical miles (9 to 18 km) depending on the airport procedures. Surveillance displays are also available to controllers at larger airports to assist with controlling air traffic. Controllers may use a radar system called secondary surveillance radar for airborne traffic approaching and departing. These displays include a map of the area, the position of various aircraft, and data tags that include aircraft identification, speed, altitude, and other information described in local procedures. In adverse weather conditions the tower controllers may also use surface movement radar (SMR), surface movement guidance and control systems (SMGCS) or advanced SMGCS to control traffic on the manoeuvring area (taxiways and runway). The areas of responsibility for TWR controllers fall into three general operational disciplines; Local Control or Air Control, Ground Control, and Flight Data/Clearance Delivery—other categories, such as Apron Control or Ground Movement Planner, may exist at extremely busy airports...

This is intended as an advertisement to the BBC's enchantingly beautiful, yet highly informative, wildlife series, 'The Nature of Britain' and as a tribute to the production team behind it. Excerpts from the episode, 'The Nature of Woodland Britain' edited to the last six minutes of Talvin Singh's melancholic and enigmatic 'Traveller', this short film emulates a journey through the seasons of the British woodland. The footage we had at the time was poor in resolution and therefore the quality of this video isn't up to the standard we normally adhere to, but we hope you would be able to enjoy it nevertheless. This video is part of our film, 'Rollercoaster' and represents the finest, Indian music in the eclectic collection that the musical showcases. Isn't our world a beautiful place, and shouldn't our daily resolution be making it even better for the generations to come? FINAL DAY! My project "Hendrix Now! Backstory of a Legend": Please support Noe Gold aka Noe the G Guitar World Founding Editor on his life's work, Hendrix Now! http://kickstarter.HendrixNow.com Hendrix Now! Backstory of a Legend A Visual Odyssey in Words and Pictures by Noë Gold First and foremost, I am a storyteller. As a veteran music and entertainment journalist going back to my stint as an editor at Crawdaddy and Founding Editor of Guitar World, that is what I do. One story that I have been telling and re-telling to the point of obsession is that of Jimi Hendrix, the greatest guitarist – possibly the greatest musician – of all time. His story has a lot to say to all generations about life, music and spirit and that is what I undertook when I became the Creative Director of the Jimi Hendrix Foundation. But, you know, obsessions can get, well … obsessive. I have been working on this book project for a few years now, collecting material, rare photographs, interviews and what I like to call "pieces of the cross, er Strat" – artifacts and signposts of the amazing trail that this monumental avatar has left us since his untimely passing September 18, 1970. The book has been proposed to prominent publishers and they have given me feedback that is very helpful in shaping the proposal and completing the book. But the most valuable advice I received came recently when one publisher asked me for a sample chapter. An agent I was working with had this to say: I think a sample chapter would be really helpful and I would tighten up the proposal before you send it to him. You should really think about what voice you want the book to have and try to capture it in the proposal and sample chapter. I wouldn't emphasize your own obsession with Jimi because a lot of people share that but rather the insight you can bring to other obsessives. Does that make sense? That was the keystone to my quest and the impetus I had in finally completing this project. What voice do I want the book to have? What insight can I bring? That narrows it down considerably. I can bring my experience (no pun) and appreciation for the genius of Jimi, and I can bring some really cool behind-the-scenes story, testimony from those near and dear to the man who have amazing anecdotes to share. And a small but valuable trove of amazing, insightful, rare and beautiful photos of Jimi in action. With your help, and with the help of my supporters of the impending Kickstarter campaign, I will publish the ultimate guide to visual artifacts and their back stories as a book called Experience This! Hendrix, Backstory of a Legend; A Visual Odyssey in Words and Pictures. It is the initial publication of the Jimi Hendrix Foundation Press, with a portion of the proceeds going to the 5013© charity. It is organized by events in Jimi's life – early years, The Scene Club and Greenwich Village in New York, London days with Clapton, Beck, Burdon and the Stones, Monterey and Woodstock and some other iconic signposts. There is testimony by photographers, Jimi associates and friends such as Kathy Etchingham and Roger Mayer, Mick Taylor and Eric Burdon. And then there is the "Mind-Meld Experience," the day that Jimi, a renowned traveller through space, time and dimension, encountered Leonard Nimoy, otherwise known as Star Trek's Spock. I intend to devote an entire chapter to Radio WKYC deejay Chuck Dunaway's fascinating account of a wild night with Jimi and Nimi in Cleveland March 26, 1968. The sample chapter signifies the concept of the book. It is Chuck D's story of that day, illustrated with some very rare artifacts, some of which I published in the groundbreaking Guitar World SPECIAL COLLECTORS EDITION HENDRIX LIVES! March, 1988, P. 82 and others from Chuck D's personal archives. Presented under fair use for educational purposes, materials all rights reserved by the original owners.
